When can we snowmobile to Yellowstone? Yellowstone is scheduled to be open for the 2007/2008 Winter Season from December 19, 2007 thru March 9, 2008.
Do we need advanced reservations? Yes! Due to limited access into Yellowstone advanced reservations are required. Advanced reservations are highly recommended for tours outside the park as well.
Deposit and Cancellation Policy – A 50% advanced deposit is required to reserve any tours. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express; and personal checks are accepted up to 2 weeks in advance of scheduled tours. Forty eight (48) hours notice of cancellation is required on day tours to avoid a 100% cancellation penalty; and on multi-day (overnight) tours cancellations must be made thirty (30) days prior to scheduled tour date to avoid a 100% cancellation penalty.
Discounts - Groups discounts are available to parties of 12 or more (peak holidays excluded); or visit our Specials page for current special offers.
Weather Policy
- Will we go snowmobiling
if it snows? Yes, due to the inherent nature of winter
weather and snowmobiling, all tours will proceed on cold and
snowy days. Hazardous weather conditions or safety
factors may require Jackson Hole Snowmobile Tours to cancel your
trip, in such cases all deposits are fully refundable.
Average temperatures Drivers: On Granite, Togwotee and Continental Divide tours the minimum driver age is 13 with parental consent and supervision; Yellowstone National Park requires that all drivers be 15 or older and in possession of a valid Driver's License (Learner's Permits are not accepted).
Participants: Ages 7 and up only! On longer tours such as the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone the recommended minimum age is 10 years old. On all snowmobile tours a degree of physical activity is required; and tours are conducted at elevations of 6,500 - 9,500 feet above sea level. Participants with special medical conditions should consult their physician prior to participating in any snowmobile tour.
How many people can go on a snowmobile? Only single or double riding permitted. All of our snowmobiles seat a maximum of 2 people.
Do you offer self-guided rentals? At Jackson Hole Snowmobile Tours we only offer guided snowmobile tours, but we can refer you to another company for self-guided rentals.
Snowmobile Damage Waiver - An optional snowmobile damage waiver is available for $15 per snowmobile with a $500 deductible. Please Note: the snowmobile damage waiver is not available to drivers under the age of 18.
Pick up and return times - Please review tour descriptions for approximate pick-up and return times (times vary with lodging accommodations). Please confirm pick up time when making reservations.
Where to Meet - We provide transportation from all Jackson Hole area motels and resorts. Guests staying at private homes or condominiums will need to provide a physical address and local phone number. Guests staying at a local hotel or motel should plan to meet our guide in the lobby or reception area at the specified pick up time. For guests who prefer to drive to our office we are located at 515 North Cache Street, in the Wagon Wheel Village and across from the Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center.
What is Included: The cost of the snowmobile tour includes transportation to/from lodging; hot breakfast and hot lunch (please inform us in advance of special dietary needs); experienced guide service; fuel and taxes; and winter outerwear which consists of snow boots, one-piece snow suit, helmet with visor, and winter mittens.
What to Wear - We recommend wearing loose comfortable layers under ski or snowmobile gear. Synthetic materials such as polyester fleece, or natural wool blends work best (NO cotton against skin). Don’t forget thermal underwear and warm socks. You will also need UV protection sunglasses; lip balm and sunscreen; disposable hand and foot warmers; a ball cap or knit cap; and face mask, scarf or neck gator. We have fleece jackets, pants, vests, socks, neck gators, face masks, hand and foot warmers, and sunglasses for sale at our office in case you forget something.
Valuables - We suggest all valuables including wallets and car keys be left in a safe place and not taken on tours. Camera equipment should be in a padded case or strapped around your neck during the tour. Jackson Hole Snowmobile Tours will not be responsible for lost or damaged property.
